Thrust 2 1982-1983 Scale 1:12 Totally Scratchbuilt
The decals where all made by hand by myself
Started building this after seeing it on TV managed to contact Richard Noble and Thrust 2 Designer John Ackroyd for some plans of the car
Most of the body is vacformed in .030" plastic card,the wheels are from aluminium.The decals where made from Trim Film mostly all the range of colours they make with some sprayed to the correct colour,they took 2-3 weeks each side to put on.The "Thrust Gold" was supplied by Trimite who sponsored the car and made the paint for the real one.
The Model of Thrust 2 and me
This photo was taken at a GKN Hardy Spicer in Birmingham,where I worked at the time of the project.It was on display in glass case in the main reception right next to the Managing Director's office for 12 months prior to and after the successful record attempts.It was in the company newspaper,I also attended several airshows with the real car and the model along side in 1983.You can see the size of the model compared to me its in 1:12 scale.(Parkes682Decals)
